I Want That…

So that title was supposed to be read in a “woman buying a 24 piece set of Nupont Fiber Woven bowls just to get the free sailboat” kind of way. I just came from Cute Overload and saw that there is such a thing as a Raccoon Dog. When I think of a Raccoon Dog, I think of a really ugly mangy dog with circles around its eyes and it smells like trash. I guess I was wrong. Check out Raccoon Dogs on Wikipedia. They’re surprisingly not ugly and just looking at this picture makes me want one…even though it would probably just hiss at me and then proceed to do so until I throw an old banana peel at it.
Day One: Me Likey

Ok, day one of freelancing from home full time. Let me preface by explaining why this is so awesome. Ever since I was little I loved art, drawing, collecting paper/pens/stickers etc. When I was in college, I knew what my dream job would be - freelancing from home. I can be my own boss, make my own hours and spend more time with my family (and future family). I also like the idea that if I don’t work, I don’t get paid…and the flip side, the harder I work the more I get paid. Working for “the man” never made sense to me because I made the exact same amount no matter what I did. This way, I’m responsible for my own time, if I fail it will most likely be because I was just plain lazy and didn’t work.
I got up this morning before Eric left for work (2 hrs after I normally do), kissed and hugged him goodbye and came down to my home office. I did some research for a client for about an hour then took a break to super-glue a chip of wood back onto a piece of furniture (something I’ve been eying ever since we moved in). I got ready and met with a client at 10:30 - which was awesome. Eric took me to lunch to Ruby’s…mmm…baked chicken and mashed potatoes (still sipping on some sweet tea to go) and I got groceries after that. On a side note, if you get the chance to go to Kroger during the slow time in the middle of the day take it! It’s just little old ladies - not the 16-19 yr olds that smush your bread, milk, and a dozen other things into one bag. It was the best check-out experience ever.
I’m so thankful for previous experience and people, but this is the next step for me. I’m so extremely happy doing this and only pray it lasts a while or as long as God wants me here.
Back to work…
