Day One: Me Likey

Ok, day one of freelancing from home full time. Let me preface by explaining why this is so awesome. Ever since I was little I loved art, drawing, collecting paper/pens/stickers etc. When I was in college, I knew what my dream job would be - freelancing from home. I can be my own boss, make my own hours and spend more time with my family (and future family). I also like the idea that if I don’t work, I don’t get paid…and the flip side, the harder I work the more I get paid. Working for “the man” never made sense to me because I made the exact same amount no matter what I did. This way, I’m responsible for my own time, if I fail it will most likely be because I was just plain lazy and didn’t work.
I got up this morning before Eric left for work (2 hrs after I normally do), kissed and hugged him goodbye and came down to my home office. I did some research for a client for about an hour then took a break to super-glue a chip of wood back onto a piece of furniture (something I’ve been eying ever since we moved in). I got ready and met with a client at 10:30 - which was awesome. Eric took me to lunch to Ruby’s…mmm…baked chicken and mashed potatoes (still sipping on some sweet tea to go) and I got groceries after that. On a side note, if you get the chance to go to Kroger during the slow time in the middle of the day take it! It’s just little old ladies - not the 16-19 yr olds that smush your bread, milk, and a dozen other things into one bag. It was the best check-out experience ever.
I’m so thankful for previous experience and people, but this is the next step for me. I’m so extremely happy doing this and only pray it lasts a while or as long as God wants me here.
Back to work…
